Introduction
The MAGNETO Horizon 2020 project (Grant 786629) produced one of the first practical frameworks for assessing high risk AI. The Ethical Impact Assessment provides three tools: an Ethical Risk Assessment form, a Misuse Risk Assessment form and a priority matrix. Together they convert the EU Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI into clear numeric scores. The forms follow the ‘probability x severity’ approach already familiar from ISO 9001, so they slot into current quality workflows with no changes.
AI ORA’s contribution
We designed the scoring model and created a dashboard that turns answers into a traffic light view for boards and project leads. Each question links to the Trustworthy AI principles, helping SMEs prove diligence without long narrative reports. The handbook that explains the method is quoted in EU policy as an early example of practical ethics.
