Irina Marsh leads the Ethics and Governance stream within the AI Organisational Readiness Accelerator (AI ORA), helping organisations establish ethical, trustworthy and governance-focused AI strategies. She ensures that AI adoption aligns with robust oversight frameworks, corporate values and societal expectations. Holding a PhD in Ethics, Irina is also certified in Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) and accredited as a Data Protection Officer. She contributes to international AI standards through the British Standards Institution and as a member of ISO-IEC and CEN-CENELEC working groups on AI trustworthiness and societal impact.
Irina has led ethics frameworks, governance strategies and stakeholder engagement across multiple EU-funded projects (FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe) for CBRNE Ltd, in technologically complex and sensitive contexts. Her contributions have focused on ensuring the trustworthiness, accountability, and ethical development and integration of advanced technologies including AI, robotics, and decision-support systems across sectors such as security, law enforcement and emergency response. She is also an Associate Professor at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest, where she researches applied ethics, crisis communication and responsible technology use.
From 2008 to 2022, she served in NATO’s Civil Protection Group as Civil Expert on Risk and Crisis Communication, chairing its Ad Hoc Working Group on Public Information Policy. She continues to contribute to international publications and forums on AI governance, ethical risk management and responsible innovation.
