Irina has a PhD in Ethics and is Associate Professor at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest.
An established expert in applied ethics and crisis communication, Irina has supported CBRNE Ltd in EU Framework Programme 7, Horizon 2020 and currently Horizon Europe on topics covering Ethics and Responsible Use of AI, AI trustworthiness, Robotics, crisis management. Irina has been a Civil Expert on Risk and Crisis Communication (2008-2022) working with the Civil Protection Group (CPG) NATO, chairing the Ad-Hoc Working Group on Public Information Policy. She is also a member of British Standard Association (BSI) Working Group Artificial Intelligence (ART/1), contributing to the development of AI standards (ISO-IEC JTC 1 SC 42 WG3 AI Trustworthiness, and CEN-CLC-JTC 21 WG4 Foundational and Societal Aspects).
Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), and an accredited Data Protection Officer, Irina brings deep expertise in AI Ethics and Responsible Use of AI, AI trustworthiness, and Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments (FRIA). Irina is also an active researcher and speaker, with a strong portfolio of publications in international journals and conference proceedings. Her contributions on applied ethics, AI governance, and crisis communication have fostered interdisciplinary dialogues and advanced knowledge in these critical fields.
